Work Together to Make J&K a Symbol of Harmony: VP Radhakrishnan

New Delhi, April 9: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Thursday, called upon the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to believe in their abilities, remain rooted in their cultural values, and work collectively to transform the Union Territory into a symbol of harmony, growth, and inspiration.

Addressing a 250-member youth delegation from J&K participating in the ‘Watan Ko Jano’ programme organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Vice President emphasised that the region holds immense potential to emerge as a premier global tourist destination.

“As opportunities expand in education, technology, tourism and entrepreneurship, every young person has the potential to become a builder of a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive future,” he said.

He also urged the youth to stay away from drug abuse and encourage their peers to do the same, stressing the importance of responsible citizenship.

Highlighting recent achievements, the Vice President congratulated the J&K cricket team on its historic maiden Ranji Trophy triumph, stating that such milestones reflect the growing confidence and capabilities of the region’s youth. He also noted the increasing leadership of women in education as a positive sign of progress.

Calling on the participants to contribute towards a Viksit and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, he said the youth have a crucial role in shaping the nation’s future.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who was present on the occasion, said the aspirations of J&K’s youth have risen significantly, with many excelling across diverse sectors. He also highlighted the developmental transformation witnessed in the region over the past decade.
