District Admin Bandipora Conducts Awareness Programme under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at GDC Ajas

Bandipora, April 04: As part of the ongoing activities under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), an awareness programme was conducted today at Government Degree College (GDC) Ajas to sensitise students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of adopting a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

The programme was organised by the Higher Education Department as the nodal department, in collaboration with the Health Department and Youth Services & Sports (YS&S) Department.

Dr. Ashaq Hussain Parray, Assistant Professor at GDC Ajas, served as the Nodal Officer for the programme. The event witnessed active participation from officials, faculty members, college students, higher secondary students and girl students from nearby institutions.

During the programme, resource persons from the Health Department, highlighted the physical, psychological and social consequences of substance abuse. The speakers emphasised the importance of awareness, early prevention and community participation in curbing the growing menace of drug addiction.

The participants were encouraged to stay away from drugs and to act as ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign by spreading awareness among their peers and within their communities.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work collectively towards achieving the goal of a drug-free society.
