Awantipora Police solve Theft Case; 02 Accused Arrested, Stolen Property Recovered

Awantipora, April 03: Police Station Awantipora successfully solved a theft case reported in the jurisdiction and arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of the crime.

On 02 April 2026, one Nazir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohd, resident of Noorpora lodged a written complaint stating that during the intervening night of 01/02 April 2026, unknown burglars broke into a temporary shed located in his apple orchard at Watsser and stole two motors.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 78/2026 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation was set into motion.

During the course of investigation, a team of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad, using modern techniques including CCTV analysis and other technical means, apprehended two accused persons identified as Maqsood Ahmad Lone son of Farooq Ahmad Lone, resident of Check Noorpora and Shabir Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rahim Wani, resident of Check Noorpora.

On their disclosure, the stolen motors were recovered from their possession.

Both accused have been apprehended and further investigation is underway.
