District Admin Bandipora Conducts IEC Awareness Programmes under Nasha Mukht Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan

Bandipora, April 02: Continuing its sustained outreach efforts, the District Administration Bandipora organized a series of IEC (Information, Education and Communication) awareness programmes under the Nasha Mukht Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan across various Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and educational institutions of the district.

The programmes were conducted at ULB Hajin (10-Kochak/Kana Mohalla), ULB Sumbal (Sonabaran) and ULB Bandipora (Ward No. 10 Mader) on April 02, 2026. Simultaneously, awareness sessions were held across several educational institutions including HS Chorwan, HSS Baduaab, HS Sumlar, HS Ahamshareef, HS Ketsan, HS Koragbal and HS GundJahangir.

A multi-departmental team comprising officials and resource persons from Health, Police, Education, Social Welfare, Excise & Taxation, Youth Services & Sports and JKNRLM participated in the programmes. The coordinated participation of these departments ensured a comprehensive and impactful awareness campaign at the grassroots level

During the sessions, the resource persons delivered awareness lectures on drug abuse prevention, highlighting its harmful effects on individuals, families and society. They emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and called for collective responsibility in curbing the menace of substance abuse.

An IEC event was also successfully conducted at HS Ahamshareef, where the ACD Bandipora (Nodal Officer IEC) attended the programme and delivered an informative speech on drug abuse.

The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, local residents and other stakeholders, who actively engaged with the officials and expressed their willingness to support the Nasha Mukht initiative.
