Bandipora, April 2: The Education Zone Bandipora has carried out rationalisation of 30 teachers across various schools, aiming to ensure a balanced and need-based distribution of teaching staff especially in remote villages of the district.
Officials said the exercise was conducted jointly by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) and the Zonal Planning Officer (ZPO) to address staff imbalances, particularly in far-flung and understaffed schools. They said the move was intended to strengthen the education system and improve access to teaching resources in underserved areas.
Under the initiative, attendance of teachers reassigned to new schools has been officially shifted to their respective postings. The decision primarily targets schools facing acute staff shortages.
Meanwhile the parents have welcomed the step, describing it as necessary for improving educational standards in neglected institutions. Several parents said the rationalisation would help ensure that students in remote areas receive adequate teaching support.
They also appealed to public representatives not to intervene in the process under pressure from those opposing the transfers. Some parents alleged that resistance to the move was not in the interest of students and urged authorities to ensure that reassigned teachers join their new postings without delay.
There were also allegations from parents that certain teachers were attempting to seek reversal of the orders. They urged district authorities to uphold the rationalisation decision and prioritise student welfare.
Education officials maintained that the process was carried out in a transparent manner and based on institutional requirements. They called upon all teachers to comply with the orders and discharge their duties in the interest of students across the zone.
