Jammu, Apr 01: Jammu, Apr 01: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of being mere “noise makers” with no genuine concern for public issues, particularly the regularization of daily wagers.

Addressing the House in the legislative assembly CM Omar as per Kashmir Convener alleged that the PDP prioritizes media appearances over legislative responsibilities and resorts to “drama, lies, and misleading the House” only to secure newspaper coverage.

“Waheed Parra and his party leaders, how much sympathy they have for daily wagers, you can decide from this drama which they did in the assembly. Not even a little,” the Chief Minister said, referring to the PDP MLA from Pulwama.

“They have only one interest—that somehow, when the newspaper is published tomorrow, their picture should be in it,” he said.

The Chief Minister also accused the PDP of fabricating claims regarding accommodation provided to former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. He asserted that despite the cancellation of entitlements for former Chief Ministers after 2019, his administration had granted a house to Ms Mufti as a relaxation, only to be met with baseless accusations.

“The limit is how much we tolerate their lies. Then on social media, they wrote against me that this is a government-sponsored murder—meaning an accusation of murder against me, that I did not give the house to Mehbooba Mufti because I want him to be killed,” CM Omar said, referring to recent remarks made by PDP leaders.

He further alleged that the opposition party had attempted to politicize the recent attack on National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, twisting facts for political gain.

“You and my media friends can guess from this that they had no intention to sympathise with the people here. Nor did they want to talk about daily wagers. They just wanted to make noise,” the Chief Minister added.
