REC Limited Receives ESG and Responsible Business Award in New Delhi

New Delhi, March 30: REC Limited has been conferred with the “ESG and Responsible Business Award” at the Net Green Foundation Earth Awards 2026 held in New Delhi, officials said on Sunday.

The award was presented at UNESCO House by Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister of Industries, Food, Environment and Forest, Government of Delhi, and Benno Boer, Chief of Natural Sciences at UNESCO.

REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) and a non-banking financial company (NBFC) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, received the award in recognition of its work in green energy finance and responsible business practices.

According to the company, the recognition marks its fourth ESG-related award in 2026. Officials said the accolade reflects REC’s focus on sustainable financing and its role in supporting projects aligned with environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

The company stated that it has been engaged in green energy financing initiatives and programmes aimed at inclusive and sustainable development. REC Limited said its efforts are aligned with India’s energy transition goals and low-carbon development pathway.

The Net Green Foundation Earth Awards recognise organisations and institutions for their contribution to environmental sustainability and responsible business practices. The event was attended by representatives from industry, government and international organisations.

REC Limited said it remains committed to financing projects that contribute to renewable energy development and infrastructure growth across the country. Officials added that the company will continue to support initiatives focused on environmental responsibility and inclusive growth.
