Bandipore, March 30: Nazir Malik, Constituency Incharge of Bandipore for the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, on Saturday raised concerns over road connectivity, erratic electricity supply, and healthcare facilities in Bandipore constituency, urging the government to take immediate action.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, Malik said the road connecting Bandipore with Srinagar has remained in a deteriorated condition for several months. He stated that despite repeated assurances from authorities, restoration work has not progressed at the required pace.
According to him, the condition of the road has affected transportation, trade, education, and access to essential services for residents of the constituency.
Malik also highlighted the issue of frequent and prolonged power cuts across the constituency.
He said that erratic electricity supply has disrupted daily life and affected businesses, students, and patients.
He called upon the concerned department to ensure a stable and reliable power supply, particularly during critical hours.
Another issue raised in the statement was the functioning of the District Hospital in Bandipore.
Malik said the hospital continues to operate without adequate specialized doctors. He stated that the absence of specialists has compelled patients to travel to Srinagar for treatment, resulting in financial and physical strain on families.
He termed the situation as requiring immediate intervention to strengthen healthcare services in the district.
Malik urged the Chief Minister and the district administration to take concrete steps on priority to address the issues related to infrastructure, electricity, and healthcare in Bandipore.
He said the people of the constituency require improved public services and basic facilities.
He further stated that he would continue to raise these concerns at appropriate forums and advocate for the welfare of the residents of Bandipore constituency.
