Bandipora, March 28: Hassan Shah Khoyihami Memorial (HKM) Degree College Bandipora organised two academic events on Saturday — the valedictory function of a month-long Graduate Employability Enhancement Training Programme and a felicitation ceremony for topper students.
An official spokesperson said the employability training programme was sponsored by the Infosys Foundation in collaboration with Learner Skills and was conducted by trainer Farooq Aadil in coordination with the college.
He said the initiative aimed to equip graduate students with communication skills, personality development inputs and workplace readiness to help them adapt to private sector requirements.
The valedictory function was held in the college auditorium, where certificates were distributed to participants by Principal Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the trainer’s efforts and the students’ participation, and wished them success in their professional pursuits. Dr. Ghulam Mohammad Khan served as rapporteur for the event.
On the same day, the Department of Botany organised a felicitation ceremony to honour students for academic excellence. The programme was moderated by Dr. John Mohammad War and began with a welcome address by Dr. Mehrajuddin Talie, who highlighted the importance of scholastic achievement and welcomed the Principal.
The topper students — Marifat Hafeez, Mahawish Mushtaq, Zainab Altaf, Sahreen Jan, Sadia Reyaz and Falak Firdous — were awarded certificates and prizes in recognition of their performance. In his address, the Principal congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.
The arrangements for certificates and awards were managed by Dr. Arif Shafi and Dr. Mudasir Qadir. Documentation of the event was carried out by Javid Ahmad Bahar, while protocol duties were also handled by Dr. Mudasir Qadir. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Junaid Ahmad Magray.
