Bandipora, Mar 24: The seasonal sale of high-quality vegetable seedlings at the High-Tech Polyhouse Zone Aloosa was formally inaugurated today by the Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Bandipora in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Bandipora, marking the beginning of this season’s seedling distribution drive.
Officials said the initiative aims to promote both kitchen gardening and commercial vegetable cultivation across the district by ensuring the availability of healthy and disease-free planting material. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Agriculture Officer lauded the efforts of the zonal staff at Aloosa for successfully raising robust seedlings and maintaining high-quality standards.
He urged farmers and youth to take full advantage of the facility, emphasizing that the use of quality seedlings plays a crucial role in enhancing crop productivity and boosting the overall agricultural economy of Bandipora.
The inaugural event witnessed the participation of a large number of farmers, who showed keen interest in procuring seedlings for the upcoming cultivation season. Many attendees appreciated the department’s efforts in making quality planting material accessible at the local level.
Officials from the Agriculture Department assured that the High-Tech Polyhouse at Aloosa will continue to provide a steady supply of quality seedlings and extend technical support to farmers to meet their cultivation needs throughout the season.
