Hajin, Mar 23: To mark Road Safety Week and raise awareness among youth, the Chief Education Office Bandipora on Monday organised a cycle race in Hajin.
The race was flagged off from Government Higher Secondary School Hajin by Principal Mehboob Ahmad Khan in the presence of Muntazir Muneer and other dignitaries. Students participated enthusiastically in the event, which began from the school premises and concluded at Baharabad.
Participants underscored the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and practising safe road habits. Officials said the initiative was aimed at sensitising young students about road safety norms and promoting responsible behaviour while using public roads.
Appreciation certificates were distributed among the participants by the department.
Officials added that district-wide awareness programmes on road safety have already been initiated by the District Administration Bandipora as part of ongoing efforts to promote safer road practices.
