Mahila Congress Holds Candlelight March in Bandipora, Demands Justice for Women

Bandipora, March 8: District Mahila Congress Bandipora on Sunday organized a candlelight march in the town as part of the All India Mahila Congress programme “March for Justice.” The march was led by Kousar Shafeeq, former Vice Chairperson DDC Bandipora and Incharge Mahila Congress Bandipora.

Several women activists and local residents participated in the march, holding candles and raising slogans demanding strict action against crimes against women and children. The participants called for capital punishment for pedophiles and rapists, stressing the need for stronger laws and speedy justice to ensure the safety and dignity of women.

Speaking on the occasion, Kousar Shafeeq said that society must unite against the rising incidents of violence against women and children and ensure that perpetrators of such heinous crimes are dealt with strictly under the law.

She also *criticized the Central Government over the rising prices of domestic LPG gas, stating that frequent price hikes have placed an additional financial burden on households, particularly affecting women who manage household expenses.

The march concluded with the participants reaffirming their commitment to continue raising their voices for justice, women’s safety, and relief from rising prices affecting the common people.
