Awantipora Police Solve Theft Case Within 03 Hours; Lady Accused Arrested, Stolen Property Recovered

Awantipora, Feb 11: Awantipora Police successfully solved a theft case within three hours by arresting the lady accused involved in the commission of the crime and recovering the stolen property.

Police Station Awantipora received a complaint from Saliq Ahmad Bhat, resident of Rajpora Ullar, stating that on 09 February 2026, unknown thieves had stolen gold ornaments and cash from his residential house.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 33/2026 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora, and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, a police team under the supervision of SHO Police Station Awantipora, Inspector Ajaz Hmad, and with the assistance of modern investigative techniques, including collection and analysis of CCTV footage from various locations, established the involvement of a lady accused identified as Asmat Jan daughter of Jalal Ud Din Bhat, resident of Rajpora Ullar.
Accordingly, the lady accused was arrested and brought to the police station, where she remains in custody.

Stolen property worth approximately ₹14,00,000 (Fourteen lakh rupees) was also recovered from her possession.

Further investigation of the case is going on.
