REC Limited wins ICC Green Urja, Energy Efficiency Gold Award

New Delhi, Feb 07: REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has won the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Award, officials said.

REC received the Gold Award in the category Excellence Award for Financial Institutions in Green Energy and Energy Efficiency at the 14th Green Energy Summit organised by the ICC in New Delhi.

The award was received on behalf of the company by Executive Director (Renewables) Kuldeep Rai and Head of Department (Renewables) Arun Kumar Chaturvedi.

Officials said the recognition reflects REC’s role in financing renewable energy and energy efficiency projects and its contribution to India’s clean energy transition. The company has been supporting the expansion of renewable energy capacity and promoting energy-efficient practices through its financing portfolio.

REC’s corporate office has achieved a GRIHA 5-Star rating and operates as a net-zero energy building, reflecting its internal focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, the company said.

REC Limited, one of India’s leading non-banking financial companies in the power sector, continues to provide financial support for infrastructure and clean energy projects aligned with national development and sustainability goals.
