Bandipora, Jan 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), Bandipora, on Sunday extended Republic Day greetings to the people of the district and the nation, reiterating its commitment to upholding constitutional values and strengthening democratic ethos through education.

In a message issued on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, JKTF Chief Spokesperson Anjum Nisar, affiliated with the All India Secondary School Federation (AISSF), said the day was not merely ceremonial but a reminder of the collective responsibility to uphold the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.

“Republic Day marks the adoption of the Constitution, which embodies the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. These values continue to guide our democratic journey and define the moral foundation of the nation,” he said.

Paying tributes to freedom fighters, constitutional framers, and national heroes, Nisar said their sacrifices laid the foundation of a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic, placing a special responsibility on educators to nurture constitutional awareness and civic responsibility among students.

Highlighting the role of teachers in nation-building, he said the teaching community acts as the custodian of constitutional values at the grassroots level. “Teachers are not only imparting academic knowledge but also shaping responsible citizens committed to unity in diversity, social harmony, and democratic ethics,” he added.

He further said that JKTF Bandipora, as part of a national educational movement through its affiliation with AISSF, remains committed to strengthening the education system, safeguarding teachers’ rights, and promoting quality, inclusive, and value-based education.

Calling upon citizens, particularly youth and educators, to reaffirm their pledge to uphold the Constitution and respect democratic institutions, Nisar said the tricolour symbolises unity despite India’s vast regional, linguistic, and cultural diversity.

Concluding his message, he expressed hope that the spirit of Republic Day would inspire renewed dedication towards peace, progress, and social justice, urging citizens to contribute positively to nation-building with honesty and responsibility.
