Bandipora, Jan 16: Showkat Ahmad Gojar, a student with a disability from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, has secured outstanding marks in the Class 12 board examinations, the results of which were declared earlier this week. His achievement sets an example that determination and inner strength can overcome physical limitations.
Speaking with Kashmir Convener, Gojar said achieving this impressive result was not easy. “It was full of challenges,” he said described his admission to N.M.G. Higher Secondary School (NMGHSS) in Bandipora as a blessing, crediting teacher Ab Sami for his guidance.
“With the help of Sir Ab Sami, who not only helped me follow my dreams but also played a vital role in shaping me, I scored 431 marks in Class 12,” Gojar said.
He said the supportive environment provided by the school. “Because of Sir Ab Sami’s support, I received an encouraging atmosphere at school. Every teacher treated me equally with the other students, which boosted my morale, helped me focus, and encouraged me to study harder.”
Gojar said, It is not easy for a student with a disability. I faced daily challenges, but I did not lose heart. The support I received from Sir Ab Sami at school enabled me to keep moving forward.”
He said, It was Sir Sami’s kindness that ensured I was provided with a helper, which made it easier for me to prepare well and qualify for the exams.
I truly credit these excellent results to my teacher and mentor, Sir Sami, he stated.
I am very happy to share my achievement, and I hope this serves as an example for other students like me who may feel they cannot accomplish anything. If you truly dream of a successful future, a path will open up. We should not fear challenges; instead, we must keep striving to move ahead, Gojar said. “Today, as I receive praise from all sides, I want to show that no challenge is too great to stop someone from getting an education.”
Showkat said I dream of becoming a KAS officer. Passing Class 12 with good marks has opened the door for me to work harder and reach my goal.
He said There are students or youngsters involved in drugs or other harmful activities. They should avoid such practices and instead concentrate on building a good life—not only for themselves but also to become a source of pride for their parents.
Meanwhile, teachers at NMGHSS praised Showkat’s consistent discipline and commitment, stating that he made effective use of the guidance and support provided to him. The school management attributed his achievement to a combination of personal resolve, parental support, and the efforts of teachers who ensure a conducive learning environment for students with special needs.
