Jammu, Jan 12: Samvedna Society, under the chairmanship of Keshav Chopra, on Monday organised its 101st free eye screening and general health check-up camp at Rehari here, extending free medical services to local residents as part of its ongoing community outreach initiatives.

The camp was held at Baby Caterer, Rehari, in technical collaboration with K.D. Multispeciality Hospital, Jammu, and was conducted under the supervision of Dr J.P. Singh. A total of 104 patients were examined during the day-long programme, which functioned as a comprehensive healthcare facility for people from the surrounding areas.

Medical teams carried out detailed eye examinations, including refraction tests, non-contact tonometry (NCT) and vision assessments, through specialised ophthalmology services. In addition to eye care, patients were provided general health services such as blood sugar testing, blood pressure monitoring and medical consultations for various health concerns.

Addressing those present, Chopra said the objective of Samvedna Society was to make healthcare accessible to the common man, particularly senior citizens and economically weaker sections. He said the organisation remained committed to ensuring that financial constraints did not deprive people of essential medical care. Chopra added that patients requiring advanced treatment, including cataract surgeries, would be facilitated further so that no one was left untreated.

Residents who benefited from the camp expressed appreciation for the availability of free medicines, diagnostic services and medical consultations at their doorstep. The programme concluded with the society reiterating its resolve to continue organising similar medical camps across the region in the coming months.

Among those present on the occasion were Dr Ankur Malhotra, Dr Sidharth, Harsha Bindra, Gurmeet Kalsi, Kajal, Tanisha, Palak, Simirti, Vishal Chopra, Kartar Chand, Sanjay, Vikas Kumar, Manoj Tandon, Anju and Divyansh.
