JKTF Urges Authorities to Clear Remaining Grade-II Teacher Vacancies in Bandipora

Convener News Desk

Bandipora, Dec 31: The Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), District Bandipora, affiliated with the All India Secondary Teachers Federation (AISTF), has urged the authorities to clear the remaining vacant posts for Grade-II teachers in the district, even as it welcomed the recent order utilizing 63 vacant posts.

In a statement issued by District President Sajad Ah Wagay, the Forum expressed appreciation for the move, noting that it addresses a long-standing demand of the teaching community, albeit partially. The Forum, however, pointed out that a significantly higher number of vacancies remain unutilized in Bandipora, while other districts in the Union Territory have witnessed higher vacancy clearances, raising concerns over equity and parity.

“This is the second such order for Bandipora, yet a large number of vacant posts continue to remain unfilled,” the statement read. JKTF emphasized that standing instructions require all available vacant posts to be utilized, and called upon authorities to consider the remaining posts in the same spirit.

While acknowledging that a limited number of posts may be pending due to court cases or unavoidable administrative reasons, the Forum appealed for a review of pending eligible cases to ensure timely clearance.

The Forum further stated that a comprehensive approach toward vacancy utilization would boost morale among teachers, who have been serving the department with dedication. JKTF Bandipora respectfully requested the Chief Education Officer to look into the matter sympathetically and ensure clearance of the remaining posts/files in accordance with existing guidelines and standing orders.

Concluding the statement, JKTF reaffirmed its faith in the administration and expressed hope that the genuine concerns of Bandipora’s teaching fraternity would receive due and timely consideration.
