Bandipora: Authorities have temporarily suspended vehicular movement on the 86 km long Bandipora–Gurez road following fresh snowfall at Razdan Top, the gateway to Gurez Valley. Officials said that around 4 to 5 inches of snowfall were recorded, and the movement was stopped as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of travellers.
Officials said that the 86 km Bandipora–Gurez road has been closed for traffic movement after fresh snowfall occurred in the higher reaches. “We have halted the movement of vehicles as a safety precaution. The situation is being monitored, and the road will be reopened once the weather improves,” officials added.
The snowfall has resulted in a decline in temperature, marking the beginning of the winter season in the upper areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Due to snowfall, the Bandipora–Gurez road is currently closed. Travellers are advised not to start their journey until confirming the latest road status from the District Control Room at 7006526985. Please stay updated and travel safely.
