New Delhi, Sept 27: REC Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power and one of India’s leading non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), has been conferred the Sustainability Icons Award 2025 for its outstanding performance in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, an official spokesperson said, the prestigious accolade was presented by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice, at a glittering ceremony held in New Delhi.
Awanish Kumar Bharati, General Manager (Finance), received the award on behalf of REC Ltd.
Spokesperson said the award recognizes REC’s commitment to embedding ESG principles across its core operations, reflecting the company’s proactive efforts in promoting sustainable practices, fostering innovation, and contributing to India’s transition toward a greener, more inclusive economy.
He said this recognition reinforces REC’s reputation as a leading PSU dedicated not only to infrastructure and energy financing but also to social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and governance excellence.
