AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre, Kenihama Holds Camps Under Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan
Budgam, Sept 17: To mark the launch of Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, the AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre (AHWC) Kenihama, under the guidance of District AYUSH Officer Budgam, Dr. Firdous Malik, today organised a series of health camps.
The initiative, aimed at promoting women’s health and overall family well-being, featured a special outreach camp at the local high school where female students participated actively. Another camp was held at AHWC Kenihama, witnessing enthusiastic response from women in the community.
During the camps, participants underwent free health check-ups for anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders and other lifestyle-related conditions. Awareness sessions were also held on nutrition, menstrual hygiene, maternal and child health, along with yoga, meditation, and stress management demonstrations. One-on-one counselling sessions addressed reproductive health, mental well-being and lifestyle modifications. Free medicines were distributed among attendees.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nusrat Bashir, Medical Officer, AHWC Kenihama, said women’s health is the cornerstone of a healthy society and stressed the importance of regular check-ups and preventive care. She added that the programme, as part of a nationwide campaign, seeks to empower women through improved health outcomes, thereby contributing to stronger families and communities.
