Full Dress Rehearsal for 79th Independence Day Held in Kupwara, Handwara, Sogam, Tangdar
Kupwara, Aug 13: The full dress rehearsal for the 79th Independence Day celebrations was held today at District Police Lines (DPL) Zangli Kupwara. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad, inspected the parade and took the salute.
The march past included contingents from Jammu and Kashmir Police, JKAP, CRPF, BSF, Forest Protection Force, and school students. Pipe and brass bands of the BSF, JKP, JKAP, and Army played patriotic tunes.
School children presented cultural programmes showcasing themes of national integration, unity in diversity, harmony, and the composite culture of Jammu and Kashmir, along with government initiatives, patriotic songs, folk music, and dance performances.
ASP Kupwara Javaid Ahmad, ACR Kupwara Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad, and other district officers were present.
Similar full dress rehearsals were also held at District Police Lines Handwara, Government Degree College Sogam, and Mini Secretariat Tangdar, where the respective tehsildars hoisted the national flag and took the salute.
Officers from the civil administration and police attended the events. Students from various educational institutions performed colourful cultural items, and the Information Department Kupwara presented folk and cultural programmes.
