Two Jammu Residents Killed, Three Injured in Pampore Road Accident

PAMPORE, July 07: Two persons from Jammu were killed and three others injured in a road accident on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Galander in the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district during the night hours, officials said.

Officials told Kashmir Convener that one Scorpio Bearing registration number JK02DQ/2585 driven by Jhonty son of Terseem Lal, resident of Mershiwala Akhnoor Jammu met with accident on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway at Galander area of Pampore, resulting which five persons boarded in said vehicle got injured.

Police Pampore immediately shifted the injured persons to Sub District Hospital Pampore for medical treatment. However driver of said vehicle Jhonty son of Terseem Lal, resident of Mershiwala Akhnoor and another person Sono Kumar son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Dabsora Jammu succumbed to his injuries.

The two injured persons have been identified as Himat, son of Desh Raj and Daman Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar, both residents of Chadi, Jammu.

A police officials said the bodies of both the deceased persons were handed over to legal heirs.

Meanwhile, police Pampore have taken cognizance of the incident.
