Shimla, June 30: Congress Chief Whip in JK Assembly and Member of the Legislative Assembly from Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat is set to participate in the first meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Affairs (CPA) India Zone, being held today at the Vidhan Sabha in Himachal Pradesh.
An official spokesperson of the legislator said the high-level gathering is being Organised by the Parliamentary Secretariat of India and aims to strengthen democratic practices, enhance legislative procedures, and foster inter-state cooperation among Commonwealth regions in the country.
The meeting will be graced by several eminent leaders, including the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, and the Leaders of the Opposition, as well as Speakers and Chief Whips from various state assemblies across India.
Ahead of the meeting, MLA Nizamuddin Bhat highlighted the importance of such forums, stating that participation enables the exchange of best practices, cross-learning between states, and collective efforts toward transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance.
He affirmed that such engagements ultimately serve the interests of the people of Bandipora and the broader region of Jammu and Kashmir.
