Bandipora, April 22: District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Bandipora organised a two-day Health and Wellness Training Program for teachers of Zone Bandipora. The programme concluded on Tuesday.
An official spokesperson said the programme was organised at the DIET Complex Bandipora under the guidance of Principal DIET Bandipora Abdul Rasheed Mir, who also holds the additional charge of CEO Bandipora.
In his valedictory address, Mir emphasized the significance of cultivating a healthy and positive school environment. He stressed the importance of stress-free surroundings to enhance both teaching efficiency and student learning outcomes.
He also called for the sensitization of educators toward the overall well-being of students. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all resource persons, participants, and the organizing team from the DIET faculty, especially acknowledging the efforts of Program Coordinator Sr Academic Officer Mr. Tanveer Ahmad Jan.
Sr. Academic Officer Shabir Ahmad also addressed the participants and highlighted the crucial role of teachers in nurturing students’ mental health and moral values. He encouraged educators to guide students toward becoming responsible and emotionally balanced individuals.
The two day featured four insightful technical sessions .The first technical session was conducted by the Resource Person, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Mir who engaged the participants in a thoughtful and interactive session on promoting a healthy lifestyle.
His session was enriched with practical activities aimed at encouraging teachers to adopt and advocate for wellness in their personal and professional lives.
The second session was led by Dr. Sabeha Malik, who presented a comprehensive talk on Reproductive Health and HIV Prevention. Her session was marked by a rich blend of experience, knowledge, and sensitivity, leaving a meaningful impact on the attendees
The third conducted by Dr. Asif Iqbal, who delivered a comprehensive and thought-provoking session on Prevention and Management of Substance Abuse. His presentation received wide appreciation for its depth, clarity, and well-researched content.
The fourth session was led by Mr. Firdous Iqbal, who spoke on Gender Equality. Drawing from his extensive experience, he engaged the audience in meaningful discussions, underlining the need for inclusive education and equal opportunities for all genders.
Officials said this training is part of a multi-phase initiative designed to equip teachers with essential knowledge and skills to foster physical, mental, and emotional well-being in schools. The program will continue in the coming weeks, covering teachers from all zones of the district.
