Bandipora, March 14: Government High School Onagam in Bandipora district on Monday organised an educational meet to emphasize the importance of enrolling children in government schools and strengthening public education.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Education Officer Bandipora Dr. GM Puju, Cluster Head Abdul Rashid Lone, Principal GHSS Gardkhud Dr Khursheed, ZEO Quilmuqam Bandipora, Headmaster GH Onagam Mohammad Iqbal Lone and other senior officials of the departments.
A large number of locals including parents attended the education meet and interacted with teachers.
Speakers at the event highlighted the improvements in the teaching learning process of government schools, including modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and enhanced learning resources.
They urged parents to shed outdated notions about the quality of education in government institutions and take advantage of free and inclusive learning opportunities. They said the government school has highly educated and trained teachers who are trained enough to deal with the children in a professional way and keep in view the modern teaching techniques.
During the event, teachers informed the parents about facilities available in the School including a smart class room, Computer Lab, Library, Science Laboratory, modern vocational subjects including IT and Telecommunication that train students in modern market oriented skills besides getting formal education.
On the occasion about 16 students from different schools got fresh admission in the school. Officials said the meet served as a platform to bridge the gap between parents and the education system, ensuring that every child in the region has access to quality education in government schools.
