Poonch, March 8: Brigadier DN Pandey, Group Commander of the NCC Jammu Group, paid a visit to Shri Chhote Shah Government Degree College in Mendhar, a border town in Poonch District, to inspect and review the ongoing NCC activities.
He was accompanied by the Commanding Officer, PI Staff, and the Girl Cadet Instructor (GCI) of the 5 J&K Battalion NCC.
Upon his arrival, Brigadier Pandey was accorded a Guard of Honour by the smartly turned-out NCC cadets of the college. He was warmly welcomed by the Principal, Dr. Mohd Azam, ANO Third Officer Dr. Liyaquit Ali, Caretaker Dr. Rehfit Naz Kouser, faculty members, and the entire NCC cadet contingent of the college. Additionally, ANOs and NCC cadets from nearby schools were present, showcasing unity and collective spirit.
During his motivating address to the NCC cadets, Brigadier Pandey commended the high morale, discipline, and dedication of the young boys and girls. He emphasized that being part of the NCC offers a wide range of activities that help in shaping their lives, moulding them into responsible citizens, and preparing them to be the torchbearers of the nation’s progress.
Brigadier Pandey further praised the efforts of the college and the NCC Battalion in advancing the educational and social development of the region. He also acknowledged the positive influence the NCC program has in the lives of students, particularly those from remote border areas, and reiterated the importance of embracing education and development for a better future.
Highlighting the need for further support, the Principal of the college, Dr Mohd Azam, requested assistance from the NCC organisation in the construction and establishment of an Obstacle Course within the college campus. In response, Brigadier Pandey assured the Principal and staff that the request would be addressed in the near future, further boosting the college’s commitment to the development of its NCC cadets. He expressed his happiness in seeing the enthusiasm of young students from remote border towns who are embracing education and contributing to the nation’s growth.
