Malik condemns continuous detention of JKLF leaders

Srinagar | Dec 15 (PTK): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik on Thursday condemned the prolonging incarceration of JKLF ailing leaders Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt and Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi.
In a statement issued to PTK, Malik said that “both of whom were released on bail by court recently but have again been arrested by police and kept at police station Rajbagh and Bemina respectively.”
JKLF chairman said that thousands of young and old are being intimidate in various jails and police stations and everything is done to prolong their incarceration and terrorize their families.
While condemning the slapping 2nd PSA on Muhammad Jamal Dar of Trehgam Kupwara, JKLF chairman said that his PSA was quashed recently but police booked him under another PSA and have sent him to Udhampore Jail.
“His mother who was looking after his case at courts breathed her last yesterday and despite her sad demise authorities have not released him yet,” Malik said.
While terming this tragic story as ‘a glaring example of brutality’, JKLF chairman said that thousands of young and old are being kept in jails and police stations and their families are being terrorized by police and authorities which are highly condemnable.
JKLF chairman also condemned the arrest of JKLF district president Baramullah Abdul Rashid Magloo who was arrested by police yesterday and has been lodged at police station Kreeri and said that a man who recently met with an accident has been put behind bars which is highly condemnable.
He also condemned the prolonged incarceration of JKLF leaders and activists zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal (Kotbalwal jail), zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, District president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), JKLF activists Fayaz Ahmad Mir of Ganderbal, Shabir Ahmad Ganaie of Kakapora Pulwama, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Kupwara, Assadullah Sheikh of Kulgam, Molvi Reyaz of Sopore, Muhammad Ishaaq Malik Kokernagh, sahib khan Trehgam , Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Kunanposhpora
Malik appealed ICRC and other human rights organizations to take a serious note of this ‘inhuman behavior’ meted out to Kashmiri inmates and take necessary steps to safeguard their lives.
Meanwhile, JKLF chairman has expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of senior journalist Arshid Ahmad Malik and expressed his heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.
While praying for his heavenly abode, JKLF chairman also prayed for Sabr I Jamil to his family.
