Indian Army Organizes Cancer Awareness Program in Gurez Valley

Bandipora, Feb 04: On the eve of World Cancer Day, the Indian Army’s Rana Battalion organized an awareness program at Youth Centre in Bagtore, near the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez Valley Bandipora district on Tuesday. The program witnessed huge participation from locals, including youth and children.

Army doctors provided valuable insights on cancer awareness, emphasizing the importance of early detection, prevention, and a healthy lifestyle. They also urged the youth to stay away from drugs and focus on building a better future.

Speaking to the media, local residents expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing such awareness programs in border areas like Gurez Valley. One of the locals said, “The Army doctors educated us about cancer prevention and also advised the youth to stay away from drugs and focus on their careers.”

Another resident echoed similar sentiments, appreciating the Army’s efforts in spreading awareness and conducting social outreach initiatives in remote areas.

The initiative by the Rana Battalion reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to the welfare of border communities, promoting health awareness and a drug-free society.
