Tarigami aghast over price hike in rice, flour and timber

Srinagar, Dec 10, CNS: State Secretary CPI (M) M Y Tarigami Saturday expressed serious concern over the price hike in rice, flour and timber terming the decision of the government as ‘anti-people.’

In a statement to CNS Tarigami said the hike in rice, flour and timber is bound to push people into further distress who have already suffered a lot due to prevailing unrest in Valley.

“We were expecting that state government will give some respite to common people but contrary the government is adding to the woes of the people. “First the government reduced the rice and sugar quota and later on resorted to price hike. Similarly government has resorted to hike during winters when people use the timber most,” he said and appealed government to revoke their decisions in the interest of the people. (CNS)
