Bandipora, January 25: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora marked National Voters’ Day with a legal awareness program in collaboration with Career Edge Coaching Institute Sumbal.
The event was held under the guidance of Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Secretary DLSA Bandipora, and the chairmanship of Mr. Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman DLSA Bandipora.
This year’s National Voters’ Day theme, ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure’, emphasizes the importance of active voter participation and underscores the power of individual votes in shaping the nation’s future.
Speaking at the event, Tasleema Jan, a panel lawyer with the TLSC Sumbal, elaborated on the significance of the day.
She highlighted that National Voters’ Day, observed annually on January 25, coincides with the foundation day of the Election Commission of India, established on January 25, 1950.
She emphasized the event’s purpose to raise electoral awareness and encourage citizens to actively engage in the democratic process.
The program witnessed participation from Panel Lawyers, PLVs, staff members, students of Career Edge Coaching Institute, and other community members, fostering a spirit of civic responsibility and awareness.
