Bharti Airtel and Bajaj Finance Partner to Build One of India’s Largest Digital Financial Platforms

Srinagar, January 20: Bharti Airtel, a leading telecom service provider, and Bajaj Finance, the largest private-sector Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) in India, have announced a strategic partnership to create one of the country’s largest digital platforms for financial services. The collaboration aims to transform last-mile delivery of financial products and services.

This partnership combines Airtel’s expansive customer base of 370 million and its distribution network of over 12 lakh outlets with Bajaj Finance’s suite of 27 financial products and its extensive network of 5,000+ branches and 70,000 field agents.

Airtel will initially offer Bajaj Finance’s retail financial products on its Airtel Thanks App, providing a seamless and secure experience for customers. Subsequently, these products will also be available at Airtel’s nationwide stores. This collaboration seeks to deepen the penetration of financial products and services across India.

Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and MD of Bharti Airtel, stated: “Airtel and Bajaj Finance share a vision to empower millions of Indians with diverse financial solutions. Combining the reach and strengths of both companies will help us succeed in this endeavor. We are building Airtel Finance as a strategic asset and will continue investing in its growth. With over 1 million customers already trusting us, our aim is to become a one-stop financial solution for all.”

Rajeev Jain, Managing Director of Bajaj Finance, highlighted: “India’s digital ecosystem has enabled data-driven credit underwriting and financial inclusion. Our partnership with Airtel leverages this infrastructure, bringing together two trusted brands to empower millions with financial services, even in remote areas. This collaboration aligns with Bajaj Finance’s focus on AI to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency.”

Currently, two Bajaj Finance products have been piloted on the Airtel Thanks App, with plans to expand to four by March, including Gold Loan, Business Loan, Insta EMI Card, and Personal Loan. By the end of the year, Airtel plans to offer up to 10 Bajaj Finance products through its app and stores.

The Airtel-Bajaj Finserv Insta EMI Card will provide flexible EMI options for purchases like electronics, furniture, and groceries at over 1.5 lakh partner stores across 4,000+ cities. Additionally, the co-branded card will support e-commerce transactions.

The partnership also introduces gold loans via the Airtel Thanks App, enabling new-to-credit customers to access finance and integrate with the formal financial system. Both companies emphasize their commitment to regulatory compliance, data privacy, and superior customer service.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward enhancing financial inclusion and offering customers a comprehensive and accessible digital financial ecosystem.
