Srinagar, Nov 28 (KNS): Terming the statement of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) statement against the party chief and former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah as ‘absurd’, National Conference (NC) on Monday said that BJP must read history and see his contribution for peace and prosperity for the country.
Talking to KNS, NC’s General Secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar said, “BJP must read the history to perceive Dr Farooq Abdullah’s contribution for the peace and prosperity of the country.”
“I believe that it is BJP who are anti-nationals and by making such statements, BJP can’t ignore the facts on ground,” he said.
Sagar said that current coalition government has cheated people on all fronts. “If Dr Sahab is today talking about the aspirations of people then why are they making hue and cry over it,” he questioned.
“The statement made by Dr Sahab is factually true and we (party) endorse his statement word by word,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sagar said that the tall claims of PDP proved hoax on the ground as the party was earlier claiming to work for the dialogue process but failed to fulfill their promises. “If they were claiming to start dialogue with Pakistan and other stakeholders of Kashmir then why are they maintaining silence over the issue now? They must come forward and find a way,” he added.
He said that the PDP-BJP, both are power hungry and can go to any extend to attain the power.
“I question the present government what they have done for the people in the last two years and what they are going to do,” Sagar added.
Pertinently, BJP had accused Dr Farooq Abdullah of speaking the language of Pakistan and insulting Parliament with his remarks in which he had made light of India’s claims over Pak-administered-Kashmir.
BJP had also said Abdullah was frustrated after being in power in the state and over the fact that it was returning to normalcy following months of unrest.
Farooq Abdullah had also hit back at those calling him anti-national saying “What has India done to take back that part of J&K” despite passing a resolution in the Parliament. (KNS)
