Srinagar, Nov 17, CNS:Holding the ideology of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as the main reason of silence maintained by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Kashmir problem, renowned columnist and Indian civil society member Prem Shankar Jha Thursday said that it is the prime duty and responsibility of Indian intelligentsia and civil society members to create awareness among people of country about Kashmir.
Jha along with other civil society members and journalists including Seema Mustafa, Anand Kumar Sahai and S.K.Murlidharan are currently in Kashmir.
“We have arrived here (Kashmir) with the sole intention to create positive environment about Kashmir across India. We will highlight the ground reality of Kashmir and will take Parliamentarians on board and in fact we have decided to write everything about current Kashmir imbroglio,” Jha told news agency CNS.
He admitted that they have no say in the present Modi led government but added that the report they will file about Kashmir will reach to the Government. “Prime Minister and his cabinet take almost all the prime decisions but unfortunately the BJP and RSS have the same ideology and it is the RSS that has been stopping the Prime Minister and the Cabinet to take a decision over Kashmir,” Jha said adding that any solution to Kashmir issue within the ambit of Indian constitution is possible and there is possibility of rewinding the clock back to 1947.
Responding to a question, Prem Shankar Jha said that due to demonetization issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn’t take any decision on the report submitted by Yaswant Sinha led delegation. “Yashwant Sinha is a senior BJP leader and he has a say within the party. Prime Minister will certainly take his report seriously. The response is not coming because Modi is facing heat due to demonetization crisis,” he said.
Prem Shankar Jha said that during their stay in Kashmir they will try to meet all the separatist leaders, civil society members and other stake holders. (CNS)
