The Zabarwan Range, veiled in winter mist, provided a majestic backdrop to the ceremony, which was presided over by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The event witnessed the participation of senior military and civil officials, including Lt. Gen. Prashant Srivastav, GoC 15 Corps, and other dignitaries from the Army, Air Force, Police, and civil administration.
Proud parents and relatives looked on as the young soldiers crossed the threshold from trainees to disciplined custodians of the nation, their eyes reflecting both pride and emotion.
Addressing the Agniveers, the Chief Minister congratulated them on completing 31 weeks of rigorous training and urged them to uphold the legacy of the JAK LI Regiment.
“Your commitment is not merely to the uniform you wear, but to the very idea of India itself. You are Jammu and Kashmir’s finest sons – now transformed into the Nation’s mightiest shields,” he said, lauding both the soldiers and their instructors for exemplary training standards.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the significance of the occasion against the backdrop of recent security challenges. This batch, barely a week into training, had participated in Operation Sindoor, which provided crucial high-intensity drills that prepared them for real-time operational challenges.
In a special gesture, dignitaries presented the parents with the ‘Gaurav Padak’, honouring their sacrifice and contribution to the nation through their sons’ service. Following the formal proceedings, the Chief Minister interacted with the Agniveers over tea, appreciating their dedication and patriotic spirit.
Congratulating the young soldiers, CM Abdullah expressed confidence in their abilities, saying, “You are the future of the country’s Army, and the nation has high expectations from you. I am confident that you will fulfill them and carry forward the proud legacy of the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry.”
The Passing Out Parade of Agniveer Batch-06 not only celebrated personal achievement but also stood as a symbol of resilience, discipline, and the enduring spirit of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth in the service of the nation
