600 Grams of Suspected Charas Seized in Hajin, 1 Arrested

Bandipora, April 27:

Bandipora Police on Sunday recovered approximately 600 grams of a substance suspected to be charas powder during routine naka checking at Madwan in Hajin area of Bandipora district and arrested one person in connection with the case.

Officials said the contraband substance was recovered during checking operations conducted by police personnel in the area.
The accused has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, a resident of Madwan, Hajin.
Police said a case under FIR No. 58/2026 has been registered at Police Station Hajin under Sections 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The recovered substance has been seized and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source and intended distribution network, officials added.
Police said anti-drug operations and checking drives are continuing across the district as part of efforts to curb narcotics-related activities.
