27-year-old Bandipora Dentist became fresh victim of COVID-19, tally climbs to 136
Bandipora, May 18, CNS: A 27-year-old Dentist who hails from Asham area of Sumbal Sub-division in North Kashmir's Bandipora District became the fresh victim of COVID-19, after his swab tested positive in the microbiology lab of CD hospital Srinagar here on Monday, officials said.
An Official told CNS that a Dentist who was presently posted at Government Dental College Srinagar had came in close contact with COVID-19 patient of Srinagar who died on Sunday after which his swab tested positive at Microbiology lab in CD hospital Srinagar taking the toll of COVID-19 Patients to 136 in the district Bandipora.
The official further said that his all family members and contacts have been traced and put under quarantine adding that the dentist marks the first positive case from Sumbal block of the district.
Pertinently, five doctors tested positive, since Sunday for coronavirus, after most of them came into close contact with a deceased Covid patient of Srinagar.
So far, 13 doctors, three nurses, and five healthcare workers have got infected with the virus in J&K.
Meanwhile, Out of 136 positive cases in the Bandipora district, 127 have recovered and most of them have been discharged, while few are still under administrative quarantine.
As of now only 09 cases are active in the district (CNS).
Panic grips Pattan neighborhood, after Ist Covid case reported from Parkipora village
Pattan 18 May, CNS: Panic gripped Pakripora village of Pattan tehsil of Baramulla district and its adjacent areas, after a 65-year old man tested positive for coronavirus here on Monday.
Acording to CNS a 65 Years old man tested positive here, which is the first ever case reported from the Pattan’s, neighborhood Pakripora village.
Reports said that panic has gripped the local population of village and its adjacent areas, as the patient is said to have also visited Sub District Hospital Kreeri and SMHS Hospital Srinagar, on 16 May 2020.
Immediately after administration came to know that the said person has been declared positive for coronavirus, senior officers from civil and police administration, including Tehsildar, SDPO, SHO ,DO Palhallan rushed to the spot, along with health & municipal teams and shifted the patient to the nearest designated Covid centre.
The family of the positive man has also been shifted to quarantine centre, said the reports.
Meanwhile strict restrictions have been imposed in the village and all the entry and exit points have been sealed by police, while the locals were advised not to venture out from their homes.
