Srinagar, June 16: The Jammu & Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF), under the leadership of its Chairman Khalid Rafeeq Bhat, has expressed deep appreciation for the dedicated service of teachers across the Union Territory who are also fulfilling the critical responsibility of Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Describing them as the backbone of the education system, Bhat lauded the teachers for their unwavering commitment, integrity, and sincerity in carrying out dual roles—educational and electoral.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, he noted that despite challenging terrains, adverse weather, and mounting administrative demands, these educators continue to discharge their BLO duties with resilience and dignity, ensuring the smooth execution of democratic processes.
Acknowledging the pressure of managing both classroom and electoral responsibilities, JKReTTF emphasized that while this dual role is demanding, teachers have consistently risen to the occasion. The Forum has called for a pragmatic approach in handling their postings, urging authorities to ensure that these teachers are stationed in schools that allow them to perform both duties efficiently and in line with Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines.
The Forum also strongly condemned any form of derogatory language or unfair criticism directed at BLO teachers, stressing that such remarks are not only unjust but also deeply demoralizing for those who serve the nation with such dedication.
Chairman Khalid Rafeeq Bhat appealed to civil society, the media, and administrative stakeholders to recognize the contribution of these frontline workers and stand in solidarity with them. “Let us recognize and celebrate their hard work, not question it,” he said.
General Secretary of JKReTTF, Muzafar Masroor Shah, echoed the sentiments, reiterating the Forum’s commitment to upholding the dignity and rightful recognition of teacher-BLOs across the Union Territory.
