Bandipora, June 16 : In line with the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan and on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, the District Administration Bandipora on Monday launched an intensive Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign across multiple panchayats of the district to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to promote a drug-free society.
The campaign witnessed active participation from local communities, youth, and various departments, with resource persons delivering sessions on the devastating impacts of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society. Resource persons emphasized the importance of a multi-dimensional approach involving prevention, awareness, rehabilitation, and enforcement to effectively tackle the menace of drugs.
Officers and experts from concerned departments highlighted the critical role of community participation and youth engagement in eradicating the threat of drug addiction. They urged the public to remain vigilant and foster collective responsibility at the grassroots level to ensure a safer and healthier future.
Resource persons sensitized the participants about the physical, mental, and social consequences of substance abuse. They also shared information on available government support mechanisms, helplines, and rehabilitation services, encouraging affected individuals to seek timely help.
The District Administration reiterated its commitment to continue such awareness campaigns across the district, aiming to build an informed, resilient, and drug-free community.
