Hajin: Municipal Committee (MC) Hajin Thursday celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm on Thursday. The event was held to raise awareness about pressing environmental concerns and promote eco-friendly practices.
Executive Officer MC Hajin, Farhana Shaukat was the chief guest, while Senior Lecturer GHSS Hajin, Shakir Shafi, graced the occasion as guests of honour.
Students from various educational institutions actively participated in the series of events conducted by MC Hajin focused on environmental conservation.
An official spokesperson said the event spotlighted urgent challenges faced by the town regarding environmental degradation and the need for collective action.
In her address, EO Farhana Shaukat emphasized the vital role of students in safeguarding the environment through scientific understanding and responsible behavior. She urged the youth to become ambassadors of a clean and green future, highlighting that sustainability begins with awareness and action at the grassroots level.
Later plantation drive was also held in the premises of MC Hajin to mark the world environment day.
