RECPDCL Transfers WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission SPV to Adani Energy Solutions Ltd

New Delhi, May 30: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) — a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power — officially handed over the WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission Limited Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to Adani Energy Solutions Limited.

An official spokesperson of the company said the project, valued at an estimated ₹1,807.46 crore, is part of an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) initiative developed through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route. Adani Energy Solutions Limited was selected as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) for the project, which will be implemented on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The handover took place in the presence of top officials, with Shri T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, handing over the SPV documents to Shri Sanjay Arvind Johri, Vice President (Business Development), Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. Officials from Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd (CTUIL) also attended the event.

The project is slated for completion by January 1, 2028, and involves the establishment of a 765/400 kV (2×1500 MVA) substation near South of Kalamb, a LILO (Line-In Line-Out) of approximately 89.18 km of the 765 kV Pune-III to Boisar-II line, along with other associated works.

Spokesperson said this strategic development is expected to strengthen the western region’s power infrastructure and facilitate efficient electricity transmission across states.
