Power Minister Lays Foundation Stone for Auditorium in UP, Supported by REC Limited’s CSR Initiative

Siddharthnagar (Uttar Pradesh), May 30: Union Power Minister  Manohar Lal on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a 1,000-seater community auditorium in Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

An official spokesperson said the project is being supported through a joint initiative by REC Limited, Power Finance Corporation (PFC), and NTPC, with REC contributing ₹7.02 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The proposed auditorium is set to significantly enhance the district’s cultural and community infrastructure. Once completed, the facility will provide a modern venue for cultural events, community gatherings, and educational programmes.

Senior officials, including the Executive Director (CSR) of REC Limited, were present at the foundation stone-laying ceremony, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents.

REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Power, has taken the lead in funding the project through its CSR arm. The auditorium is expected to be completed within a stipulated timeframe and is projected to become a hub for inclusive cultural and artistic expression in the region.
