Srinagar, May 29: A 17-member delegation from the Socialist Party of India, led by national vice-president Sandeep Pandey, called on Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, to convey their unwavering support to the people and government of Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
The meeting, held at Nawa-e-Subah Srinagar, saw the delegation strongly condemn the brutal attack that claimed innocent lives. They extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and reaffirmed their commitment to stand with Jammu and Kashmir during this difficult period. The Socialist Party reiterated its dedication to peace and unity in the region.
Dr. Abdullah welcomed the delegation’s solidarity and underscored the importance of collective resolve in combating terrorism. Both sides emphasized national unity and communal harmony, condemning terrorism as an affront to justice and human dignity.
Addressing the gathering, Sandeep Pandey said, “The Socialist Party stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In tragic moments like these, it is imperative to rise above political and regional differences to support one another as fellow citizens.”
Dr. Abdullah echoed the sentiment, stating, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have always believed in peace and brotherhood. Such cowardly acts must not divide us or weaken our collective determination.”
The meeting ended with a joint appeal for peace and a promise that democratic forces nationwide will continue to support Jammu and Kashmir’s path toward stability, dignity, and inclusive progress.
Later in the day, Dr. Farooq Abdullah inaugurated a state-of-the-art Thyrocare Lab in Chadoora. MLA Chadoora Ali Muhammad Dar, District President Budgam GM Bhat, and youth leaders Imran Pandit and Faisal Bhat were also present on the occasion.
