Doda, May 14: Indian Army on Wednesday organised an Agniveer registration and training camp in Doda to encourage youth participation under the Agnipath recruitment scheme.
An official spokesperson said a total of 49 aspiring candidates, including one girl, took part in the programme aimed at preparing them for a transformative journey in service and skill development.
The camp is part of the Indian Army’s broader commitment to national development, youth empowerment, and community engagement. It sought to inspire local youth to take up the Agniveer path, equipping them with the necessary guidance and motivation for upcoming recruitment rallies.
“The Agnipath scheme offers an opportunity for youth to serve the nation and return to society with enriched skills, discipline, and patriotism,” said a defence spokesperson.
The training and registration drive also served to strengthen the Army’s bond with the local community. Participants expressed deep appreciation for the initiative and called for more such camps in the future to ensure better preparedness.
The programme underscored the Army’s role in fostering a skilled and patriotic young population ready to contribute to India’s security and progress.
