Rajouri, May 9: Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service officers on Saturday mourned the demise of ADDC Rajouri Dr Raj Kumar Thapa who was killed earlier in cross border shelling.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, the JKAS Fraternity stated that the tragic news has cast a shadow of grief across the region, with officers, officials, and the public expressing heartfelt sorrow at his untimely demise.
An official spokesperson said Dr. Thapa was widely respected for his integrity, professionalism, and people-centric approach. Over the span of his distinguished two-decade-long career, he emerged as a beacon of administrative commitment, known for addressing critical grassroots issues with compassion and competence.
“His sudden passing is being mourned as not just the loss of a government officer, but of a mentor, a dedicated public servant, and a selfless human being,” reads the statement.
In a joint condolence message, members of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service expressed deep anguish over the incident. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of a colleague who exemplified devotion to public service. Dr. Thapa’s legacy will continue to inspire us all. His contributions to Rajouri district and beyond will be remembered with great respect,” the message read.
