Poonch, May 7: Minister Javed Ahmed Rana has expressed profound grief over the loss of innocent civilian lives in cross-border shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector. Terming the incident a tragic and deeply distressing episode, the Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and urged citizens to remain united and support one another in this time of adversity.
Rana called on the Deputy Commissioners of Poonch and Rajouri to immediately evacuate residents from vulnerable areas and establish shelter camps in safer zones equipped with essential amenities. Emphasizing the need for swift humanitarian response, he said all possible measures must be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of civilians affected by the shelling.
Appealing to the youth, the Minister urged them to take an active role in promoting community solidarity and offering aid and moral support to the victims. “These are testing times. Our youth must come forward to show compassion and resilience, and play a vital role in supporting the affected communities,” he said.
The Minister reiterated his commitment to ensuring every necessary step is taken to protect civilian lives and maintain peace and security in the region.
