Teachers’ Forum Delegation Meets ZEO Quil Muqam, Raises Key Teachers’ Concerns

Bandipora, May 5: A high-level delegation of the Teachers’ Forum from District Bandipora, comprising district and zonal leadership, held a crucial meeting today with the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) of Quil Muqam at his office. The meeting aimed to address important educational issues and advocate for the timely resolution of teachers’ grievances.

One of the main concerns raised was the posting of teachers from Quil Muqam Zone currently working outside the zone without valid justification. The Forum demanded their immediate repatriation to ensure that the local educational needs are not compromised.

The delegation also highlighted the need for transparent and fair rationalization of teaching staff, stressing that this process must be free from bias to maintain balance and quality in all schools.

Issues related to Travelling Allowance (TA) and pending arrears were also discussed. The leaders pointed out that several teachers are facing financial hardships and urged prompt action from the authorities to resolve the delays.

The Forum further expressed concern over the misuse of official WhatsApp groups, where non-relevant comments and interference have disrupted communication. They urged that these platforms be strictly reserved for official and educational content.

The ZEO Quil Muqam gave a patient hearing to all concerns and assured the delegation that all pending matters would be prioritized and addressed appropriately.

Those present in the meeting included Zonal President Bandipora Mr. Riyaz Rasool, Zonal President Quil Muqam Mr. Mohammad Shafi Tantrey, Zonal Publicity Incharge Mr. Shaheen Ahmad, District President Mr. Sajjad Ahmad, Vice Zonal President, Zonal President Sumbal, and General Secretary Mr. Anjum Nisar.
