Bandipora, May 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Bandipora today inaugurated its first Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) under the World Bank-funded RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) initiative at ITI Hajin.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Mr. Engineer Aijad Ahmad Wani, Superintendent, ITI Hajin, who expressed his gratitude to JKEDI for selecting ITI as the venue for this important initiative. In his address to the participants, Mr. Wani emphasized the need for youth to adapt to the changing economic environment and view entrepreneurship as a promising and viable career option.
District Nodal Officer JKEDI Bandipora, Ms. Syed Nazneen, gave an overview of the programme and its objectives. She highlighted the institute’s role in fostering entrepreneurship and creating self-employment avenues in the region.
Programme Trainer Mr. Syed Asrar Qadri conducted an engaging session for the participants, providing detailed insights into the functioning of JKEDI, with a special emphasis on the J&K Startup Policy and its benefits for aspiring entrepreneurs.
A total of 33 participants, including 17 males and 16 females, have registered for the four-week programme. The ESDP will cover various aspects of entrepreneurship development, including management, marketing, business simulation, field visits, and market surveys, aimed at equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to start and sustain their own ventures.
The initiative marks a significant step toward fostering entrepreneurship culture in Bandipora district and is expected to empower local youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.
