Bandipora : The Aloosa Tehsil office in Bandipora district has come under scrutiny for administrative negligence and sluggish functioning, leaving local residents exasperated and underserved. Multiple complaints point to delayed services, lack of staff accountability, and indifferent behavior by officials.
One glaring example of inefficiency emerged recently when a Bandipora court ordered a report concerning a road in Aloosa to be submitted by December 23, 2024. Despite the urgency of the matter, the tehsil office failed to meet the deadline, citing the unavailability of the Tehsildar. The concerned party reportedly made several visits to the office but was continuously met with excuses and inaction. “It was only after nearly four months of relentless follow-ups that the office finally submitted the report to the court,” said a local source familiar with the case while speaking to Kashmir News Bureau.
Another resident shared his frustration over the prolonged delay in getting an agreement attested. “I waited at the office for nearly two hours, but the official did not offer a proper hearing or explanation,” he said, calling the experience discouraging and disrespectful.
Such incidents are not isolated. Many residents have echoed similar complaints, describing the tehsil office as unresponsive and slow to act. The delays have caused significant inconvenience, especially for those who must return multiple times to complete basic paperwork.
Adding to the woes is the absence of a full-time Tehsildar in Aloosa. Locals claim that the charge of Aloosa Tehsil lies with the Bandipora Tehsildar, who is reportedly available only twice a week. This limited access has further deepened the administrative crisis in the area.
Kashmir News Bureau made repeated attempts to contact the Tehsildar for comments, but he remained unavailable.
As public frustration mounts, residents are appealing to higher authorities to intervene and address the inefficiencies in the Aloosa Tehsil office. They demand prompt action to ensure reliable, transparent, and timely public service delivery. (KNB)
