Bandipora, 01 May: The Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producer’s Cooperative Limited (JKMPCL), operating under the brand name Snowcap, marked the International Year of Cooperatives with a district-level prize distribution ceremony held at Town Hall Hajin in Bandipora district on Thursday. The event focused on recognizing excellence within the cooperative network and promoting the success of local milk producers and their societies.
As part of this initiative, prizes and cheques were distributed among the top five milk producers in the district. The ceremony aimed to celebrate the achievements of cooperative members while reinforcing JKMPCL’s mission of strengthening grassroots dairy development and empowering rural producers across Jammu and Kashmir.
The event was graced by JKMPCL CEO Chirag Bhensdadia, who applauded the efforts of the dairy farmers and encouraged continued dedication to cooperative principles. “The spirit of cooperation is the backbone of our dairy network. Recognizing our best-performing producers is vital to encouraging others and building a stronger community,” Bhensdadia said.
Senior Apni Party leader Imtiyaz Parray, Admin Head Farooq Ahmad Najar, Board Director Manzoor Ahmad, and Procurement Incharge Muzaffar Ahmad, Rather Mehraj Role Model Sarpunch J&Kwere also present, along with Supervisors Mudasir Ahmad, Aadil Nissar, Adil Parray, Riyaz Ahmad, and several other dignitaries from across Sonawari.
While speaking to the media, Supervisor Mudasir Ahmad emphasized the importance of such events in motivating milk producers. “This program is a great initiative to acknowledge the hard work of our milk producers. It not only rewards excellence but also inspires others to contribute more actively to the cooperative movement,” he said.
The event was widely appreciated by attendees and marked a significant step in fostering a culture of recognition, empowerment, and unity among the milk-producing community in Jammu and Kashmir.
